1. Dryer Vent Cleaning
If you are wondering what this even is, it is time to call someone to come check yours out. Most dryers hook into a venting system that can become lined and clogged with lint. This lint when exposed to the heated air from the dryer becomes a huge fire hazard. Companies that provide dryer vent cleaning have specialized brushes and vacuum systems that pull all of that lint out of your vents eliminating the risk of fire. You can hire a large company to do this service. In our area of the country, retired or off duty firemen sometimes offer this service for a reasonable fee. If time is an issue, hire someone to do it for you. This is different that regular dryer cleaning.
2. Fireplace Cleaning
This is another job that we don’t think about as often as we should. Ash and soot buildup in our fireplace and chimney during the colder months. Issues can linger during the warmer months and without proper attention cause a fire hazard for our homes. Many companies offer a checkup and cleaning for your fireplace. And the piece of mind is worth the cost.
3. Ductwork Cleaning
Ductwork in your home is a pain to clean, but dust builds up in our ducts and can be recycled throughout our air and HVAC systems. For families with allergy and breathing issues this can be a problem. Good filters can fix a lot, but if it’s been a long time since your ductwork was checked out and/or cleaned, it might be time to get a quote for the job to be completed.
4. Deep Cleaning
Yes, we are all capable of deep cleaning, but sometimes finding the time to get those deep cleaning jobs can be difficult. You can take time off and do deep cleaning of baseboard, curtains, windows, ceiling fans, etc on your own. Or you can hire in temporary help for deep cleaning jobs that are hard to find time for. When you call to hire a housekeeper, many companies will give you a quote depending on what you are looking for.
5. Carpet Cleaning
Regular vacuuming and spot cleaning can go a long way to keep your carpet looking and feeling great. But at least once a year, you’ll probably want to get your carpets cleaned. You can rent or buy a carpet cleaning machine, and do it yourself. But it is work and since you aren’t a professional it will take awhile. Or you can hire a company to come in and do a good job for you. There are a few things to consider before you hire a carpet cleaning company, but this is one chore that is definitely worth bringing in the experts for.
6. Car Cleaning
It doesn’t take a lot of training to be able to clean the interior and exterior of a car, but sometimes finding the time can be a challenge. Car washes have made it simple to bring in your car for detailing ranging from a quick wash to elaborate services for the inside and outside of your vehicle. Yes, you will pay for them, but you will also save a ton of time. If you find a place that does a great job with your car chances are that they can get it done in 1/3 or less of the time it would take you to do it.
7. Lawn Work
I’m not a fan of lawn work. I prefer to have a service that comes regularly and does the basics of trimming the grass, bushes and trees. It can take the better part of a day to get these things done at my house, or I can pay to have someone come and get it done for me.
8. Regular Housekeeping
This isn’t an option that I currently use, but for many paying someone to do the regular cleaning of their home makes sense. This is especially helpful for busy families who aren’t home during the day. A trusted housekeeper can come into the home and complete these chores quickly and effectively leaving the family to enjoy time together in a clean home when they are finished with the days duties.
