The Action: In late January, few semi-detached properties were available in Don Mills, save for this estate sale at the end of a winding street surrounded by parkland, the Don River, Deerlick Creek and Donalda golf course. Booked solid with 45 showings and two open house attended by 50 shoppers, the exposure translated into nine offers.
What They Got: What appears to be a 1950s brick bungalow with a carport is a three-level back-split on a sloping 36-by-117-foot lot, so it has a front living room with cathedral ceilings and a lower-level dining room and kitchen with a walkout to the backyard, which can also be accessed from a separate family room.
The upper level of the 1,370-square-foot space has the larger of two bathrooms and three rear bedrooms with hardwood floors beneath the broadloom.
The Agent’s Take: “It’s ideal because it’s close to highways and you can walk to the Shops at Don Mills,” says agent Andrea Stark, who notes the stroll is more scenic via footpaths winding through the community. “And there are a lot of ravines around the area, parks and nice schools.”
Plus, this home is on a desirable section of a treed street. “It’s quite quiet and removed, there’s a little parkette in front of it and there’s very little traffic,” adds Ms. Stark, who saw kids building ice forts there during an open house.
“This part of the street are all semis and they’re different styles – there are two-storeys, bungalows and split levels … but it’s very continuous looking because they were all built around the same time, and they’re semis, so there’s not that much construction.”
